Salvatore M. "Sal" Bevilacqua age 74 of Auburn, IN died Thursday June 1, 2017 at VA Medical Center – Ft. Wayne, IN. He was born September 17, 1942 in Buffalo, NY to Joseph J. and Rose F. (Cappella) Bevilacqua and they preceded him in death. Sal married Faye D. Bond on July 23, 1962 in Elizabeth City, NC. He was a machinist at Auburn Gear for 43 years, retiring in 2006.
Sal was a Navy Veteran serving during the Cuban Crisis – 1960 – 1963.
Sal was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church – Garrett, IN and was a past president of the UAW.
Salvatore is survived by his wife: Faye D. Bevilacqua, Auburn, IN; sons: Michael (Carol) Bevilacqua, Virginia Beach, VA; David Bevilacqua, Goshen, IN; daughters: Lori Wilson, Austin, TX; Lei (Shaun) Baumert, Leo, IN; brother: Robert Bevilacqua Buffalo, NY; sisters: Maryanne DiRienzo, West Seneca, NY; Simone Bevilacqua, Buffalo, NY; Rose Krans, Charlotte, NC; 7 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. Sal was preceded in death by his daughter: Terianne Bevilacqua
A Memorial Mass will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church – Garrett, IN at 11 a.m. Friday, June 9, 2017.
Burial will take place in Christian Union Cemetery – Garrett, IN
Military Honors will be conducted by the Garrett American Legion Post #178 and the U.S. Navy.
