Sharon D. Lopshire, 64, a devoted Mother, Wife, Grandmother and Friend of Avilla, died on Friday, September 2, 2011 at her residence. She was born May 17, 1947 in Fort Wayne to Roy E. and Dora H. (Alfeld) Stevens, they preceded her in death. She married Gene Lopshire in 1985 and he survives in Avilla. She had been the secretary for Dynamic Power Corp since 1985. Also surviving are her daughters, Michelle Duval of Fort Wayne and Danielle Price of Rochester, MI; brothers, Art Hafner of Chicago, IL and Roy Stevens of South Carolina; 3 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Tony Hafner. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, September 7, 2011 at 10 a.m. at Thomas Funeral Home, 1277 C.R. 56 in Garrett with Rev. Ken Conrad officiating.. Burial will follow in Covington Memorial Gardens in Fort Wayne. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 6, 2011 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
