Sharon Mavity, 75 of Garrett, died on Saturday, March 12, 2011 at her residence. She was born June 28, 1935 in Garrett to Scott and Hazel E. (Smith) Malcolm Sr. and they preceded her in death. She had worked at Kraft Foods in Kendallville until her retirement. Sharon is survived by a daughter, Marilyn Gambino of Clearwater, FL; daughter, Sarah Steigmeyer of Auburn; son, Steve Mavity of Saint Johns, FL; her brothers, Scott Malcolm Jr. and Wayne Malcolm of Garrett; sisters, Nancy Delauder of Kentucky, Virginia Treml of California and Leah Brilliandt of Leo; 5 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Arlene Burtch and Janet Bowman. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 15, 2011 from 4-8 p.m. and on Wednesday, March 16, 2011 from noon to 1 p.m. with the funeral at 1 p.m. at Thomas Funeral Home, 1277 C.R. 56.
