Sheila A. Eckstein age 70 of Auburn, IN passed away Saturday, June 6, 2026 at Auburn Village. She was born March 17, 1956 in Renssalaer, IN to Loyd and Inez (Messer) Hale and they preceded her in death. She married John Leo Eckstein on November 24, 1973 in Kouts, IN and he died in 2006. She had been a cook at many restaurants in the area – retiring in 1980.

Sheila is survived by her daughter: Samantha (Chad) Baker, Garrett, IN; Brother: Timothy Hale, Hanna, IN; sisters: Melady Jo Kleist, Hanna, IN and Palasteen Brown, Hanna, IN; 7 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents: Loyd and Inez Hale; husband: John Leo Eckstein; granddaughter: Mekayla Jo Bales; brother: Gary Lee Hale.

Graveside services will take place at 1 p.m. Wednesday, June 10, 2026 at Cedar Creek Cemetery – Auburn, IN.
