Shirley D. Ferguson, age 55, died on Monday, August 20, 2007 at DeKalb Memorial Hospital. She was a lifetime DeKalb County resident. She was born on July 5, 1952 in Fort Wayne, IN to Junior and Effie Mae (Turner) Combs. She was a Nursing Assistant at Byron Health Center in Fort Wayne, IN. She was an avid NASCAR fan, especially Dale Earnhart Jr., she also loved Elvis Presley and enjoyed playing Bingo and watching wrestling. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 22, 2007 from 2-4 pm at Thomas Funeral Home, Garrett, IN with the funeral service to follow at 4 pm with Pastor Earl Rose Jr. officiating. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, August 25, 2007 at 1:00 pm in Fairview Cemetery, Huntertown, IN. Memorials are to the family.
