Shirley A. Polinuk age 83 of LaOtto, IN died Monday, October 11, 2021 surrounded by her loving family. Shirley was born November 29, 1937 in Warsaw, IN to Richard W. and Lillian (Cress) McConnell and they preceded her in death. She married George A. Polinuk on December 17, 1958 in Warsaw, IN. Shirley was a nurse at St. Joseph Hospital for over 20 years.

Shirley is survived by her husband: George A. Polinuk, LaOtto, IN; 2 daughters: Stephanie (Michael) Detter, Kendallville, IN; Darcy (Rich Augustine) Coffel, New Haven, IN; son: Richard Polinuk, Auburn, IN; 3 sisters; 6 grandchildren: Eric (Angie) Traxler, LaOtto, IN; Justin (Stacia) Traxler, Ft. Wayne, IN; Brant (Chaning) Detter, Avilla, IN; Abbey (Steve) Mieritz, Ft. Wayne, IN; Phillip Coffel, New Haven, IN; Alex Coffel, St. Petersburg, FL; 9 great grandchildren: Emma and Ethan Frauhiger, Lillian and Rose Tarlton, Adelyn, Colsten and Tessa Traxler, Blakely and Collin Detter.

A Gathering of Friends and Family will take place from 5-7 p.m. Thursday, October 14, 2021 at Thomas Funeral Home, 1277 C.R 56, Garrett, IN  46738

A Memorial Service will follow at 7 p.m. with Rev. David Mix officiating.
