Shirley M. McPheeters, 79, of Garrett, IN died on Wednesday, June 4, 2008 at DeKalb Memorial Hospital. She was born on May 28, 1929 in Helmer, IN to Floyd and Dolly Barkey. She married Maurice McPheeters Sr. on February 24, 1968 in Garrett, IN. She was a winder at Electric Motors for 30 years before retiring in 2000. She attended the Garrett Prebyterian Church and was a member of the Garrett VFW Auxiliary and Garrett American Legion Auxiliary. Visitation will be held on Friday, June 6, 2008 from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at Thomas Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Bill Hambright officiating. Burial will follow in Christian Union Cemetery.
