Steven Louis Tarlton age 60 of Garrett, IN died Wednesday, January 11, 2017 at Parkview Regional Medical Center - Fort Wayne, IN Steven was born June 21, 1956 in LaPorte, IN to Calvin Lee and Ilien M. (Bloom) Tarlton. He was a railroad engineer and superintendent of U.S. Rail - Kokomo Division. He married Delsie L. Ransbottom on September 1, 1989 in Auburn, IN and she survives in Garrett. Steven was a member of the Garrett - 1974 State Championship football team and was their kicker, being called the "toe" for many years. Steven is survived by his wife: Delsie L. Tarlton, Garrett, IN; 2 Daughters: Leah Tarlton, Enon, OH; Keri Tarlton, Ashley, IN; mother: Ilien M. Tarlton, Garrett, IN; step daughter: Christy (John) Goble, Garrett,, IN; Step son: Matthew (Niki) Rowe, Garrett, IN; brother: John (Cindy) Tarlton, Hudson, IN; Step grandchildren: Ben, Alyssa, Dylan and Krystal Goble; Christopher Rowe, Gidion and ZZ Burgo, and Gabe and Zeb Firestone; 3 nieces, 5 great nieces, 3 aunts and lots of loving cousins. Steven liked being with his family, playing guitar, railroading, old cars, wood working and antiquing. He was preceded in death by his father: Calvin Lee Tarlton. Visitation will take place Sunday, January 15, 2017 from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. at Thomas Funeral Home, 1277 C.R. 56, Garrett, IN Services will take place at 11 a.m. Monday, January, 16, 2017 at Tomas Funeral Home with Pastor Jan Dimick of the Garrett United Methodist Church officiating.
