Tony L. Vanderpool, 51 of Garrett, IN died on Friday, June 19, 2009 at 6:45 p.m. at Betz Nursing Home in Auburn, IN. He was born March 1, 1958 in Garrett to John and Mavis (Howard) Vanderpool. He was laborer at Kimballs in Auburn for 21 years. Tony enjoyed hunting and liked to fish. Tony is survived by his mother, Mavis Vanderpool of Garrett and several aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 23, 2009 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at Thomas Funeral Home. The funeral service will take place Wednesday, June 24, 2009 at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Funeral Celebrant Ryan Myers of Thomas Funeral Home will conduct the service. Burial will follow in Christian Union Cemetery. Memorials are to the American Cancer Society or Donor's Choice.
