Veda M. Freeman Bellows age 88 of Avilla, IN died at 5:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 21, 2009 at Provena Sacred Heart Home in Avilla, IN. Veda was born on July 5, 1920 in Fort Wayne, IN to George and Maime (Bunch) Baysinger, they preceded her in death. She married Melvin Freeman on August 23, 1937 in Garrett, IN and he died on December 28, 1957. She then married John V. Bellows on July 23, 1961 in Garrett, IN and he died August 19, 2005. She taught at Ravenscroft Beauty College from 1959 until 1973 and was the owner of Veda's Beauty Shop from 1957 until 1999. She is survived by her daughter and son in-law, Janice and Lee Christlieb of Avilla, IN; grandchildren, Joni and Matt Blomeke of Avilla, IN; Daren Christlieb of Avilla, IN; Dina and Scott Teders of Avilla, IN and Adam and Brian Bock. 7 grandchildren, Andrea, John and Joe Christlieb; Jeremiah Blomeke; Brennen, Aubrey and Jared Teders. Several nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her sister, Mary Alice Cline of Fort Wayne, IN. In addition to her parents and husbands, she was preceded in death by a daughter Patricia Bock and a sister Grace Bright. Memorials are to Hospice Home of Northeast Indiana and DeKalb Home Healthcare. There will be no visitation. A memorial graveside service will take place at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 25, 2009 at Embrey Cemetery in rural Garrett, IN.
