William Matthew Andrews, age 90 of Fort Wayne and formerly of Garrett, died on Wednesday, February 15, 2012 at Covington Manor in Fort Wayne. He was born October 23, 1921 in Dothan, Alabama to William H. and Dora (Thompson) Andrews, they preceded him in death. He had worked for the B&O until 1962 and also was a building and remodeling contractor. He served in the Army during WWII in China, Burma and India. He is survived by his daughter, Linda VanAuken of Fort Wayne, who he officially adopted in October 2011, since they had enjoyed a father/daughter relationship for 44 years. Sisters, Mabel Myers and Mishie Day of Middletown, OH and numerous nieces and nephews and cousins. A military graveside service will be held on Friday, February 17, 2012 at 11a.m. in Christian Union Cemetery in Garrett. Memorials are to Heartland Hospice or the donor's choice
