William H. "Bill" Hays, age 80 of Garrett, died on Sunday, March 28, 2010 at Miller's Merry Manor Nursing Home in Garrett. He was born August 21, 1929 in Garrett to Hudson and Beatrice (Morris) Hays. He was a laborer at International Harvestor and a WWII veteran having served in the U.S. Army. He was a member of the Garrett United Methodist Church. He is survived by his brothers, Hudson Hays of Garrett and Richard Hays of Eustis, FL; sisters, Nancy Treesh of Auburn and Jeannette Jacobs of Kendallville and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Jo McWilliams. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 30 from 3-5 p.m. at Thomas Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, March 31 at 10 a.m. in Corunna Cemetery. Memorials are to Garrett United Methodist Church or Miller's Merry Manor Activities Department.
