William "Bill" "The Cookie Man" L. McNutt October 1, 1928 - February 15, 2014 William "Bill" "The Cookie Man" L. McNutt age 85 of Garrett died Saturday, February 15, 2014 at Parkview Regional Medical Center - Ft. Wayne, IN. He was born October 1, 1928 in Litchfield, MI to Lemon H. and Mary S. (Sponhauer) McNutt. He married Jeanette Fenstermaker on November 7, 1949 in Angola, IN and she died December 28, 2003. Bill was an Army veteran of both WW II and Korea. He worked at the A & P Grocery in Auburn from 1952-1965, Auburn Foundry 1965-1982 and Kendallville Foundry 1982-1990 as a purchasing agent. He was a member of the Garrett American Legion. He is survived by his son - Terry McNutt, Garrett, IN; daughter in-law- Sharon McNutt, Garrett, IN and daughter in-law- Lillie McNutt, Hueysville, KY. He is survived by 5 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and a sister- Vada Starr, Plymouth, MI. He was preceded in death by his wife - Jeanette McNutt, Son - Jeff McNutt, Parents - Lemon H. and Mary S. McNutt, 2 brothers - Carl McNutt and George McNutt and a sister - Rose Marie DeVenter. Visitation will take place from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday, February 20, 2014 at Thomas Funeral Home - Garrett, IN Services will take place at 11 a.m. Friday, February 21, 2014 at Thomas Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Christian Union Cemetery - Garrett, IN with military graveside services by the U.S. Army, the Garrett American Legion and the Garrett VFW. Memorials are to the Miller's Merry Manor Activities Fund
