Wilma Jean Gibson of Garrett, Indiana June 22, 1930 - January 26, 2015 Wilma Jean (Straight) Gibson age 84 of Garrett, IN died Monday, January 26, 2015 at Betz Nursing Home - Auburn, IN. Wilma was born June 22, 1930 in McKean County, PA to Glen and Evelyn (Batson) Straight and they preceded her in death. She married Hoot Denzel Gibson on January 25, 1949 in Millersville, WV and he died December 29, 2007. She was a laborer at Electric Motors - Garrett, IN, retiring in 1992. After retirement she babysat until 2004. She enjoyed bingo, baking and cooking. She was a member of the Garrett Eagles and Garrett American Legion Wilma is survived by a son: Donald Wade Gibson, Garrett, IN; and 3 daughters: Barbara Miller, PA; Rita Betz, Auburn, IN; and Kathy Van Allen, Kendallville, IN. She has 4 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren. Visitation will take place from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. Friday, January 30, 2015 at Thomas Funeral Home - Garrett, IN. A service will take place at 1 p.m. Friday, January 30, 2015 at Thomas Funeral Home with Rev. Richard Pickard officiating. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery - Auburn, IN.
