Harold Werkheiser Obituary

Harold E. Werkheiser age 76 of Garrett, IN died Friday, March 15, 2024 at Parkview Regional Medical Center – Ft. Wayne, IN. Harold was born March 30, 1947 in Garrett, IN to Harold and Mary (Manrow) Werkheiser and they preceded him in death.

Harold was a Garrett Fireman for 45 years, Garrett Police Officer for 37 years and worked over 20 years for Fire Services Inc. Harold graduated in the first class of the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy and was a member of the Garrett Presbyterian Church, Fraternal Order Of Police, Masonic Lodge, Garrett Sons of the Legion, Indiana Volunteer Firefighters Association, and the Indiana Fire Chiefs Association.

Harold is survived by Judy Werkheiser his wife of 45 years; daughters: Lora Alloway, Cheney, KS; Leigh Miller, Wichita, KS; Sons: H. Edward Werkheiser, Wichita, KS; Chad (Stephanie) Werkheiser, Garrett, IN; Mark (Alison) Warstler, Warner Robins, GA; Brad (Kim) McConeghy, Garrett, IN; grandchildren: Kristina (Jonathan) Auch; Danielle (Jonathan) Peek, Trace Quick, Bryce Quick, Jet Alloway, Baylee Werkheiser, Landen Werkheiser, Connor (Jessie) Warstler, Gillian (Iren) Garcia, Christie Burgan, Brandon (Mogan Vogel) McConeghy and 7 great grandchildren.

Harold was preceded in death by his parents: Harold and Mary Werkheiser; sister: Dorothy Jean Werkheiser and grandson: Jordan McConeghy.

Visitation for Harold will take place from 2-8 p.m. Monday, March 18, 2024 and 10 – 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 19, 2024 at Thomas Funeral Home, 1277 C.R. 56, Garrett, IN.

Services will take place at 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 19, 2024 at Thomas Funeral Home with Rev. William Haworth  officiating.

Burial will follow in Corunna Cemetery – Corunna, IN.
