Jason Paul "J.P." Smith age 50 of Garrett, IN passed away Thursday, January 8, 2026 at Parkview Regional Medical Center – Ft. Wayne, IN. Jason was born November 28, 1975 in Ft. Wayne, IN to Noah Lee and Sandra Sue (Bierbaum) Smith and they preceded him in death.

Jason is survived by his son: Cameron Herbst-Smith, Garrett, IN; brothers: Noah (Jessica) Smith, Garrett, IN; Phillip (Beth) Smith, Ft. Wayne, IN; sisters: Susan Smith, Garrett, IN; Wanda (Ed) Reyes, Ft. Wayne, IN.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, January 17, 2026 at the Church at Garrett, 1370 S. Randolph St., Garrett, IN with Pastor Tom Wilcoxson officiating.

A Gathering of Friends and Family will take place from 1-2 p.m.
