Marilyn “Sue” Atkison age 84 of Garrett, IN died Saturday, March 13, 2022 at Miler’s Merry Manor – Garrett, IN. Sue was born December 26, 1937 in Toledo, OH to Gaylord E. and Mary Geraldine (Landis) Wells and they preceded her in death. Sue married Charles R. Atkison on November 6, 1960 in Paulding, OH.
Sue had worked as an X-Ray Technician at both Garrett Hospitals and Parkview Hospital.
Sue was a member of the Garrett United Methodist Church and founded the Community Care Food Bank in Garrett in 1980.
Sue is survived by her husband: Charles R. Atkison, Garrett, IN, son: David Atkison, Garrett, IN; daughter: Debi (Rick) Jenkins, Kendallville, IN; brother: Gene Wells, Bolivia, NC; 4 grandchildren; 2 step grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren and 2 step great grandchild.
A Celebration of Life Service will take place at 2 p.m. Sunday, May 1, 2022 at the Garrett American Legion Post#178
Burial to take place in Christian Union Cemetery – Garrett, IN
Memorials are to the Community Care Food Bank
