Monroe J. Kessler age 80 of Garrett, IN died Tuesday, September 8, 2020 at Parkview Regional Medical Center – Ft. Wayne, IN. Monroe was born March 21, 1940 in New York City, NY to Irving and Florence Kessler. Monroe was a machine operator at Bosch in Albion before retiring. He was a United States Navy Korean War veteran
Monroe married Vivian I. Mowry on September 21, 1989 in Baton Rouge, LA and she died April 14, 2016.
Monroe was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Garrett Eagles, life member of Garrett American Legion Post #178, Auburn Moose and past chefdegar of the 40 & 8.
Monroe is survived by his daughter: Trina Joseph, Garrett, IN; 2 step sons: Mark Queen, Scottsdale, AZ; Clarence “Sam” Queen, Ft. Wayne, IN; 3 step daughters: Donna Hite, Columbia City, IN; Brenda Knight, Ft. Wayne, IN; Vivian Queen, Ft. Wayne, IN; 3 grandchildren; several step grandchildren and step great grandchildren.
Monroe was preceded in death by his wife: Vivian I. Kessler; parents: Irving and Florence Kessler, brother: Edward Kessler.
In keeping with Monroe’s wishes – cremation will take place with no services or visitation.
