Nick Roscoe Hoot

Nick Roscoe Hoot age 82 of Rome City, IN died Saturday, December 4, 2021 at ShorePoint Health – Venice, FL. Nick was born October 25, 1939 in Fremont, IN to Roscoe S. and Edythe Faye (Dangler) Hoot and they preceded him in death. He married Julia “Judy” Swander on November 15, 1959 in Garrett, IN and she died January 18, 2009. He later married Cheryl A. Peters on June 19, 2010 in Garrett, IN. Nick was an insurance agent – retiring in 2012.

Nick was a member of the Garrett Presbyterian Church and the Garrett Country Club.

Nick is survived by his wife Cheryl A. Hoot, Rome City, IN; daughters: Angela (Norman) Brinkman, LaGrange, IN; Christina (Todd) Walters, Auburn, IN; son: Ronald (Melissa) Hoot, Ft. Wayne, IN; 5 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren; brothers: David Hoot, Stewartville, MN; Karl Keiper, Wawasee, IN; sister: Jeanne Sorensen, Benton Harbor, MI.

Visitation will take place from 2-8 p.m. Friday, December 10, 2021 at Thomas Funeral Home, 1277 C.R. 56, Garrett, IN. and from 10 – 11 a.m. Saturday, December 11, 2021 at the Garrett Presbyterian Church.

Services will take place at 11 a.m. Saturday, December 11, 2021 at the Garrett Presbyterian Church, 201 S. Franklin St., Garrett, IN with Rev. David Hoot and Rev. Terry Epling officiating.

Burial will follow in Orange Township Cemetery – Rome City, IN
