Sharon Fulk Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that the families of Sharon Onlea Fulk (age 82) announce her departure from this life on January 31st, 2024, at her daughter’s home in Garrett, IN.

Sharon was born March 8th, 1941, in Fawn River, MI to the late Clarence and Marie Stevens. She graduated as a senior from Mesick High School in Mesick, MI.

Sharon was a force to be reckoned with, with curly red hair and a treasured sense of humor (and stubbornness!) She was a fruitful gardener who could nurse any plant back to health. She also enjoyed bird watching; specifically, hummingbirds. You would often find her on a step stool meticulously preparing their feeders on her balcony overlooking the lake. When she wasn’t bird watching or gardening, you would find her building puzzles, shopping, or visiting with friends on the lane.

Sharon lived on Golden Lake (Angola, IN) with husband Jesse “Sam” Fulk, before his death on February 5th, 2017.

After retiring from Dana (Churubusco, IN) the remainder of her life was spent lovingly with family and friends. Sharon was immensely family oriented; being “grandma” to an army of grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren. She was excitedly awaiting the birth of her 10th great grandchild in April 2024. Sharon’s home and land was filled with the music of her family’s laughter as she watched them swim in the lake for hours, fish, and go mushroom hunting.

Sharon was preceded in death by parents Clarence and Marie (Johnson) Stevens, brother(s) Harry Stevens, Michael Stevens, and Leonard Stevens, sister(s) Lorna (Bruce) McComb, Dorene (James) Whitmore, and Patricia Stevens.

Sharon was also preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, Jesse “Sam” Fulk.

Surviving are her daughter, Tracey (Mark) Ojeda of Garrett, IN, brother Gerald (Eva) Stevens of Grand Rapids, MI

3 grandchildren Stacey Fitzwater-Potter of Fort Wayne, Darcie (Rocky) McCray of Auburn, and Celeste (Celly) Fitzwater of Fort Wayne.

Also surviving are 9 great grandchildren (Chloe, Chase, Bentley, Rocky Jr, Cambria, Tristan, Kai, Jhin, and Cyrus) and 1 great great grandchild (Colt) and her beloved dog, Audrey Belle.

Visitation will take place from 2-8 p.m. Monday, February 5, 2024 at Thomas Funeral Home, 1277 C.R. 56, Garrett, IN 46738.

Services will take place at 10 a.m. Tuesday, February 6, 2024 at Thomas Funeral Home with Gerald Stevens officiating.
